New York 2010... jeder Anfang ist schwer!

Dress up ... ... Take off ... Tighten ... Take off Yes! on that day then was the fitting for my tailcoat.

White Tie is required for the Quadrille Ball, no one is without the inlet granted. So we had to try on Measure disconnect for me choose accessories ... it is supposed to all fit in the "big day".




After it was done then it was breakfast delicious. The rich set table was nothing to be desired, no rubbish in a very nice atmosphere of a really nice hotel, between 5th & 6th Ave. We have let ourselves go well know ... each as he deserves it ;-)



Zunächst bekam ich einen Anruf von Gene, dem Besitzer einer Bar in der Upper East Side. Dieses Gespräch war schon sehr positiv (mehr dazu später ;-) aber als dann noch der Anruf von der Late Show mit David Letterman kam war es umso schöner. Wir hatten Karten für die Show bekommen und machten uns im Anschluß auf den Weg .... national TV was waiting for us!!!

New York 2010 ... back home !

Am ersten "vollständigen" Tag in NY ging es denn auch gleich in den Central Park. Die Sonne schien, also ab runter und die 3 Blocks von Rachels Apartment gen Central Park in Angriff genommen. Frühstück gab es auf dem Weg, einen klassiker - Coffee-to-go und n Bagel mit Frischkäse, wobei die 500 gr. Frischkäse nicht so richtig Mundgerecht waren ;-)

Nachdem wir Höhe 86th Street in den Park gegangen sind, haben wir einen kleinen Abstecher zum Wasserresevoir gemacht bevor wir dann in Richtung Downtown gegangen sind. Wie gesagt, die Sonne schien und alles war entspannt und friedlich... eienr der entspanntesten Spaziergänge der vergangenen Jahre, keinen Zeitdruck, keine Eile - nur schön! Nachdem wir dann den Anstieg zum Castle hinter uns gebracht hatten konnten wir bis auf die obere Plattform gehen und die herrliche Aussicht genießen.



Anschließend ging es zur Schlittschuhbahn im Central Park wo wir ein paar Minuten Pause gemacht haben to enjoy the panorama. Has felt really good to be back "home" ;-)



The whole day was influenced by it to wander through the city, the first down 5th Ave and then Park Ave up again before we were then taken with a few friends for late brunch. went

evening, then to Nikki Beach, where we were greeted by the manager Seabass with Champagne. Together with Tushy, Michelle and other friends we had then hit the dance floor ... to the vibes of the one and only himself - DJ Jean Michel!

New York 2010 ... Part One

In January it was time again. After almost a year I'm back to New flown to York to see friends and family to celebrate with them and the Quadrille Ball at the Plaza Hotel to witness. This ball has this year celebrated 50 years of existence. One more reason to participate, but more on that later ...



First, I want to give you some impressions of the days before the Q-ball. I was very happy that I could not live alone this trip, but I accompanied a dear friend has. Thus, I could show her a little of "my" New York and we were able to discover in the new city.
After our direct flight from Hamburg to Newark and the subsequent train ride to Manhattan, it was first time in the T-point to face telephone card recharge ...  communication is just everything.



Rachel, who was our host for the first few nights, had to work even more so, we've beaten us the time in a diner around the ears before and Gautam has led straight to the Legendary JTB on the 2nd Ave. The JTB is the "neighborhood bar" of my friends in NY, even if they do not live in the neighborhood. What we have then performed the solemn transfer of the sweet gifts.



Gautam were visibly delighted with the 5KG Nutella and Rachel had their hands full. Then hatten wir noch ein paar Stunden um uns zu aklimatisieren, bevor es dann zu Julia Geburtstag ging. Ein Großteil meiner Freune waren da und das Wiedersehen viel sehr herzlich und überschwänglich aus. Aber der Abend sollte sollte jäh zu ende sein, der Flug forderte seinen verdienten Tribut und wir gingen müde in Richtung Rachels Appartment... es war schön wieder in NY zu sein... ich war glücklich !
